The concept that created my project was based on an elegant simplicity. Birds in a cage can have hundreds of impractical meanings, but I wanted to convey a since of tranquil freedom. So I looked for images of birds taking flight. The poem helped to remind me what these 'birds' need freedom from, and what could be more tranquil then a romantically lit room?
